

Riyadh, Tuesday, May 31, 2022-
A cross section of staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the early hours of Tuesday, 31st May 2022 welcomed the new Head of Chancery, Ahmed Tejan Kabba, who assumed duty following the retirement and departure of his predecessor, Alhaji Ibrahim Vandi Kondoh (Vicco).
The new HOC, Ahmed Tejan Kabba, is a career diplomat with over 20 years distinguished service and has served as Chargé d’ Affaires (a.i) in our Missions in Brussels, Belgium as well as acting HOC in the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Kabba said he was prepared to work assiduously with the Head of Mission and the entire staff to strengthen the bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia and the other Diplomatic Districts.
Last week, the Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh, and staff of the Embassy, organised a send-off farewell in honour of the outgoing Head of Chancery (HOC) and Minister Plenipotentiary (M.P), Alhaji Ibrahim Vandi Kondoh.
Mr Kondoh is a career diplomat who retired from the Civil Service of the Republic of Sierra Leone this year.
Bidding farewell to Mr. Kondoh, both the Head of Mission, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh and the Deputy Chief of Mission, Mohamed Hassan Koroma, thanked Mr. Kondoh for his service at the Mission and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
“As we bid you farewell, we pray that the Almighty Allah grants your wishes and that which would be good and beneficial. As human beings we are not perfect and we should learn to forgive one another,” Ambassador Jalloh concluded.
The Account Clerk of the Embassy, Amina Koi-Dowui, almost in tears, described Mr. Kondoh as a mentor that never looked down on his staff. She said Mr. Kondoh was like a teacher to the entire local staff and was very frank in advising them.
Local staff of the Mission also commended Mr. Kondoh for what they described as the good working relationship he had with them and wished him the best of luck.
On his part, Mr Kondoh commended the Ambassador and staff of the Mission for the send-off party hosted in his honour.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you gave me right through my service as your Head of Chancery and Minister Plenipotentiary of our great Mission in Riyadh. May Allah continue to maintain and sustain the bond forever,” he said.
Mr. Kondoh informed the staff that the incoming Head of Chancery and Minister Plenipotentiary, is a professional and easy-going diplomat whom the Embassy staff will enjoy working with.
