Riyadh, Monday, 27th January 2025- His Excellency Mohammed S. Barrie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, joined fellow Ambassadors for a farewell cocktail reception. Held at the Cultural Palace of Diplomatic Quarters, the event honoured outgoing Ambassadors Ahmed Farouk Mohammed Tawfik of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said of the Sultanate of Oman.
Organised by Djibouti’s Ambassador to the Kingdom and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Dya-Eddine Saïd Abdoulrahim Bamakhrama, the reception marked the completion of the outgoing Ambassadors’ tour of duty. It also welcomed Sierra Leone’s new Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mohammed S. Barrie, alongside five other newly appointed Ambassadors.
During the event, Ambassador Barrie engaged in constructive multilateral discussions with his counterparts, including US Ambassador Michael Ratney, Chinese Ambassador Chang Hua, and the Oman Ambassador. These discussions aimed to promote the vision of President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, which focuses on human capital development, governance, accountability, transparency, and economic transformation, and in the interests of Sierra Leone.
