Sierra Leone National Olympic Committee Delegation Visits Embassy

The President of the Sierra Leone National Olympic Committee (NOC), Prince Vandy Sualley, together with the Treasurer and President of the Paralympic Committee, Unisa Deen Kargbo, and Dr. Patrick E. Coker, Medical Commissioner of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association of Sierra Leone and former President of the Association, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed Barrie at the Chancery in Riyadh on Wednesday.

In his remarks, H.E Ambassador Barrie welcomed the NOC delegation to the Chancery on behalf of the staff of the Embassy. The Ambassador said he attended the official opening ceremony of the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISF) in Riyadh and was pleased to see representatives of the delegation at the podium and Sierra Leone being announced as a participating country.

Ambassador Barrie extended his goodwill message to the NOC delegation and all the athletes. In response, NOC President Prince Vandy Sualley expressed deep gratitude to Ambassador Barrie and the staff of the Mission for the warm reception at the Chancery, saying it made them feel at home.

The delegation thanked Ambassador Barrie, the Head of Chancery, Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, and the entire staff of the Embassy for their hospitality. Dr. Coker disclosed that Sierra Leone is participating in the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, which is being held from November 7th to 21st, 2025, and comprises 57 countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Mr. Vandy Sualley expressed gratitude to H E the President of Sierra Leone , the Vice President, the Minister and Deputy Minister of Sports, the National Sports Authority and the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association in Riyadh for making the trip possible.

The President of the Paralympic Committee and NOC Treasurer, Unisa Deen Kargbo, informed Ambassador Barrie and the staff of the mission that Sierra Leone is competing in 5 sports: swimming, athletics, judo, wrestling, and women’s para powerlifting.

The Head of Chancery, Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, thanked the NOC delegation for visiting the Embassy, saying the Mission is their home in the Kingdom.
