Distinguished fellow Sierra Leoneans,
As we gather to celebrate the 64th anniversary of Sierra Leone’s independence, I, on behalf of our visionary leader, His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, extend my heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes to the resilient people of our great nation.
This day marks not only the birth of a sovereign state but also the enduring spirit, strength, and unity of Sierra Leoneans.
May this anniversary renew our collective commitments to peace, progress, and prosperity for all. Let us honor the sacrifices of our leaders-H/E President Bio, our forefathers by continuing to build a future rooted in justice, hope and shared purpose.
Since independence, our journey has not been without its trials-we have known struggle, civil war, Ebola, covid etc. we have endured hardships. Yet through it all, the people of Sierra Leone have remained strong. We have shown the world what unity, courage, and perseverance look like. Sierra Leone stands as a testament to the power of hope and resilience.
Today, let us celebrate our achievements-lead by our visionary leader H/E President Julius Maada Bio, in education, in peace-building, in economic growth, in agriculture, energy, in the arts and sports. But let us also look to the future with clear eyes and bold hearts. Let us continue striving for justice, equality, and opportunity for all. Let us continue to invest in our young people, in our communities, and in our shared future.
On Friday April 25,2025 myself and few members of the embassy staff, attended Jumma prayer services where I engaged the chief Imam to offer prayers for my country-Sierra Leone, the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio and people of Sierra Leone at the King Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Mosque of Umm Hamam which holds over 5000 worshipers.
So, let us move forward, hand in hand, across tribes and regions, beyond politics and divisions-united by love for our country, committed to her progress and proud of her heritage. May Allah bless our country and her leadership.
