Madina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thursday, 9th November, 2023-
A Sierra Leonean student at the Islamic University in Madina, Kingdom of Saudi Abrabia, has been awarded an Excellent First Class Ph.D. degree in the studies of Creed and Mosques.
Ahmad Umar Bah, who also holds a First Class Honours Degree in Islamic Creed from the same university, defended his Ph.D Thesis titled the *”Implications Posed by Muslim Scholars to the People of the Book, A Comprehensive Analysis.”
Dr. Bah defended his Ph.D thesis succinctly during a colourful congregation held at the Thesis Defence Hall, Faculty of Da’wah and Fundamentals of Religion in Madina last week Thursday.
Dr. Bah expressed optimism that the knowledge he acquired would benefit him and his country.
“Insha’Allah, I believe this knowledge will be beneficial to me and my beloved country. I have a lot of plans for Sierra Leone.
Some of them are to inspire students of my country to pursue this course, as well as contribute to the socio-economic development and propagation of Islam in Sierra Leone.”
The new Ph.D Islamic Scholar disclosed that he has been serving as an assistant lecturer at the University for the past two years.
Dr. Ahmad Wurie Bah is the second Sierra Leonean scholar to attain a doctorate degree in Islamic Creed from the Islamic University of Al-Madinatu al-Munawarah after Dr. Ramadan Jalloh who graduated with Ph.D in Islamic Creed in 2010.
The Islamic University of ‘Al-Madinatu al-Munawarah” was founded by the government of Saudi Arabia following a Royal Decree in 1961. Since its inception, the University has produced over 400 Sierra Leonean graduates.
