Outgoing Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Saudi Arabia Bids Farewell to the Governor of Riyadh Region

Riyadh, Thursday, 28th November, 2024-

The outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh, has officially bade farewell to the Governor of Riyadh Region, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz.

In his farewell statement, Ambassador Jalloh expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty, the King, the Governor and People of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the hospitality accorded him throughout his stay in the Kingdom. He conveyed kind sentiments from His Excellency the President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, for deepening and strengthening the bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia.

The outgoing envoy assured the Governor that his successor would build on and further cement the long bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia.

In his response, Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar, on behalf of His Majesty the King and Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commended Ambassador Jalloh for his outstanding work and achievements during his six years’ service as top envoy of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom.

The Governor further said that it was under his ambassadorial assignment that Saudi Arabia opened its Embassy in 2023 for the first time in 42 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This, he said, is a significant milestone for both countries to solidify their bilateral ties. His Royal Highness conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavours and assuring him that he would always be welcome in the Kingdom.

The Governor presented a distinguished plaque of honour to Ambassador Jalloh in recognition of his outstanding service as envoy of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom.

In another related development, Ambassador Jalloh also officially bade farewell to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs during which he was awarded a plaque as gratitude for his services in the Kingdom.

Ambassador Jalloh was accompanied by the Head of Chancery, Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, Counsellor Mohamed Victor Kamara, the First Secretary, Mamodu Bai Sesay and the Information Attaché, Abubakarr Bah.
