Tourism Minister Arrives in Saudi Arabia for the 26th UN Tourism General Assembly

Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Nabeela Farida Tunis, has touched down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the 26th Session of the UN Tourism General Assembly. The five-day event runs from November 7th to 11th, 2025, and focuses on “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” marking the organization’s 50th anniversary. The Minister is accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Ms Judith Jones.

The assembly brings together over 160 member states, international organizations, and industry players to discuss sustainable tourism practices. Key highlights include the election of the organization’s Secretary-General, specialized committee meetings, and a session on AI’s impact on tourism. The 124th and 125th Sessions of UN Tourism’s Executive Council will also take place.

The Minister was received by Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mohammed Barrie, Head of Chancery Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, and Cultural Attaché Alhaji Ibrahim Koi-Dowui.
