A total of 300 Sierra Leonean home-based pilgrims, including the Chairman of the Presidential Hajj Taskforce Alhaji Murtada Sesay, have safely arrived in Madinah. They were warmly welcomed at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport by Ambassador Mohammed S. Barrie and Deputy Ambassador Abdul Aziz Turay.
The pilgrims have been accommodated at Sedrtul Madimah hotel near Masjid Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque), where they will perform daily prayers and visit historic sites, including the Prophet’s tomb, before heading to Makkah for this year’s Hajj.
Meanwhile, 100 Sierra Leonean home-based pilgrims, who are beneficiaries of the Saudi Royal Hajj scholarship, will depart Freetown today, May 30, 2025, and arrive at King Abdulaziz International Airport Hajj Terminal after an 8-hour flight.
This year’s Hajj pilgrimage, scheduled for June 4th to 9th, 2025 (8th to 12th Dhul-Hijjah 1446H), will have a total of 2,000 Sierra Leonean pilgrims, from home and abroad.
