Profile of H.E Dr Ibrahim Jalloh

The Ambassador Extra-ordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone accredited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh was appointed by His Excellency the President of Sierra Leone, Brigadier retired Dr. Julius Maada Bio on the 20th July, 2018.

He is a career Islamic scholar and lecturer. He speaks both English and Arabic fluently which makes his job easier.

He was the Supervisor and coordinator for Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs’ missionaries, programmes and activities in Sierra Leone, since 2004 up to 2018. Before assuming his Ambassadorial duties, Dr. Jalloh was a visiting Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. He is also the Supervisor and Coordinator of Annual National Seminars and workshops for Imams and Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies organized in Sierra Leone by the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and The Saudi Committee of Dawah for Africa in Riyadh scince 2003.

Dr. Jalloh was Secretary General of the Ansarul Mission, and Program Manager of Ansarul Development Services, an NGO Service Provider for the SABABU Education Project.
He is also Founder and Managing Director of Alhuda Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Services as well as Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Muslim Missionaries Union.
He also served as Chairman of the task force, and was presenter at the Voice of Islam (VOI) Radio Station in Freetown.
Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh holds a Diploma in Applied computer studies, BA, Excellent, Law & Islamic Studies, M.A, Excellent in Islamic Jurisprudence and First Class Ph.D Honours in Islamic Jurisprudence from the Faculty of Islamic Law in the Islamic University, Medina, Saudi Arabia.

AWARDS/ ACHIEVEMENTS

In 1996, Dr. Jalloh was decorated with two awards; one from the Almadina Almunawwarah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for intelligence & outstanding academic performance at the M.A. degree level and another as a certificate of Merit and Recognition from the African League of Post Graduate Students, Islamic University, Madina, He also got the Dean of Student Affairs Award of Gratitude and Appreciation, for his dedication to teaching Computer at the Center for Developing skills in the University of Madina in 2001.

EARLY LIFE

Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh is a very religious and unassuming personality that is down to earth. He was born on the 18th of April, 1964 in Fanima Wonde Chiefdom, Bo District, in the Southern Region. He had his early education in Kenema where he attained form 3 at the Government Secondary School before pursuing further studies at the Islamic University in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

A​s Ambassador, he has been able to strengthen the bilateral relations of Sierra Leone with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman since he assumed office in December, 2018.
